You shouldn't just rely on blood pressure readings at the doctor's office. Aside from the potential for white-coat syndrome, estimated to affect as many as one in five patients, studies have shown that measuring throughout the day is a greater predictor of heart risk. Withings' new Blood Pressure Monitor is a high-tech way to accomplish this.

Just wrap the cuff around your arm (it fits circumferences 9 to 17 inches), connect it to your iOS device, hit start in the free app and the air pump automatically inflates at 15 mmHg/s. Moments later, you'll see your heart rate, Systole and Diastole -- based on either a single measurement or the average of three measurements in a row. The app supports multiple users. View historical results and graphs -- including the date and time of day measurements were taken -- either right on your i-device or in your free, private, secure online account. Lastly, you can synch the data to Microsoft HealthVault or the soon-to-be-discontinued Google Health, or securely share info with your physician, if you so choose.
